Leadership Group
The leadership group is responsible for the daily TSS management work.
Hans Hansson is Professor of Computer Engineering, specializing in Real-Time Systems, at Mälardalen University since 1997 and leads the strategic profile area Trusted Smart Systems (TSS). He co-founded MDU’s Embedded Systems research environment and has led major scientific and educational initiatives. His recent work focuses on functional safety, cybersecurity, and industry-focused online education. A strong advocate for collaboration across academia, business, and society, he is among the top 2% most cited researchers in his field. Five of his PhD students have become university professors. Past roles include director of the national ARTES programme, visiting professor and department chair at Uppsala University, and leadership positions at the research institutes SICS and RISE.
Saad Mubeen is a Full Professor of Computer Scinece, specializing in Predictable Embedded Systems at the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering at Mälardalen University Sweden since August 2022. He holds a Master degree in Electrical Engineering specialization in Embedded Systems from Jönköping University, in 2009. He received his Licentiate and PhD degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Mälardalen University in 2012 and 2014 respectively. He received his Docent title (Associate Professor) in Computer Science with a focus on "Developing Predictable Vehicular Embedded Systems" in March 2018.Saad's research focus is on model- and component-based software development of predictable embedded systems, modeling and timing analysis of on-board real-time communication, modeling and end-to-end timing analysis of distributed embedded systems
Dr. Krister Landernäs is a senior expert with more than 15 years of experience in the industry. He was an expert in industrial networks and automation at ABB Corporate Research before joining MDU as a Process lead for TSS in 2024.
