DeSET
Digital Energy Services and Ecosystem Transformation
The DeSET project investigates how commercial properties are affected by and can affect the transition of the Swedish energy system.
In collaboration with leading real estate companies, the project explores how digital solutions for operations and maintenance as well as other innovative services can transform stakeholder roles, business models and collaborations to improve value creation for all stakeholders.
The project will highlight how changing roles, new business opportunities and strengthened collaboration can support the transition towards a resilient energy system where buildings go from being passive consumers to becoming integrated, dynamic parts of the solution, while meeting the needs of tenants and society.
DeSET combines real-time energy usage data from property management systems and other forms of building and tenant-related data to gain deeper insights into how premises are used and thereby explore new opportunities for value creation. The project also investigates how legacy infrastructure can coexist with modern digital solutions, and how the choice between centralized and decentralized systems affects an organization's ability to optimize its energy use and achieve satisfied tenants and users.
