Our history

Gustav Dahl, born 1905, was a proficient dentist from Eskilstuna. During his lifetime he fulfilled an exam in dentistry in Stockholm and a master of science in Dentistry from Chicago. In addition to his career as a dentist he became the secretary of the American Dental Society of Sweden. An organisation that protected the common interest of Swedish dentists with an American education.

The scholarship foundation was created on the 4th of november, 2002 by Gustaf Dahl’s wife Christina. Initially the foundation aimed at awarding scholarships to students and doctoral candidates at the institute of biology and chemical engineering at Mälardalens högskola. Due to changes in the organisation of Mälardalen University in 2009 the foundation tilted its aim towards environmental engineering.
