The team Robotikingenjörerna (like all other participants) winners of Pluggpeppen

Pluggpeppen is an initiative by MDH to, in a pleasant way, inspire the programme students to be more physically active during the pandemic. The competition has now ended. The winning team is Robotikingenjörerna – and Eskilstuna City Mission gets a donation from Volvo CE.

The drive Pluggpeppen made by MDH has been a great success. Since the start on 6 April about 500 students from 40 different programmes have registered their training activities. In total, the teams have collected 3 879 838 credits by being physically active. The competition ended on 17 May and the team Robotikingenjörerna, consisting of students from the programme Master of Science in Engineering – Robotics, took home victory with no less than 16 309 credits. Apart from the honour, Robotikingenjörerna gets the first prize – a workout session with the training profile Fannie Redman.

On top of it all, Eskilstuna City Mission gets a 10 000 SEK donation from Volvo Construction Equipment. Volvo CE challenged the students: if they collected 4 000 000 credits in total Volvo would support the City Missions work for those affected by the pandemic. In the end the students were 120 162 credits away from the official goal, but Volvo CE still wants to reward the students for their great effort.

– The commitment has been amazing, the students fought hard and were so close. The real target isn’t credits but a more sustainable health, and I think many has got a push towards that through Pluggpeppen. Of course, we want to support both that as well as the important work by the City Mission, and will therefor make the donation, says Anne Bast, Head of Brand, Marketing and Communication at Volvo CE.

Pluggpeppen started out as a way of providing the programme students at MDH an opportunity to feel better, get more energy and a stronger feeling of community during the pandemic. The competition is based on research showing that physical activity brings massive advantages for your health, both physically and mentally. Now MDH hopes that the students have been inspired to continue being physically active, because everyone doing that is a winner.

Pluggpeppen!

Now it’s more important than ever to do some exercise. That’s why we’re launching Pluggpeppen! A competition where you and your fellow programme friends challenge other programmes at MDH by working out and scoring points on an app. Running, yoga, swimming, weight training or going out with the dog – whatever you do you’ll help your team to climb up the table. And not least: pep, challenge and push each other to manage just a little bit more!
