Our partners have state-of-the-art labs and test teams for the entire driveline including engines and components, power transformation and storage (batteries and hydrogen), energy system and grid, hydraulics and advanced materials where you can test a number of variables such as; strength and vibration, climate and durability.

ABB Low Voltage Laboratory in Västerås

The ABB Low Voltage Laboratory, which is part of ABB Electrification in Västerås, Sweden, was built in 2019. It has 1,200 sqm and is one of ABB’s most advanced high-power laboratories for low-voltage products.

In the topmodern laboratory, ABB will perform testing and certification of its low-voltage products and 5-6 employees can work together.

ALSTOM

Alstom’s powerlab in Västerås, Sweden is open to external parties interested in testing and developing electrical drive systems. The plan is to help to accelerate the transition to an emission-free future through cross-industry collaboration. The climate-smart mobility innovations of the future will result from cross-fertilizations between industry, universities, and start-ups.

Future Energy Center - Mälardalen University

The Future Energy Center (FEC) is an internationally research environment with focuses on renewable energy, resource efficiency and digitalisation. In co-production with the industry and society 7 professors, 20 senior researchers and about 30 PhD students work with efficient, flexible and innovative energy systems.

Volvo Hydrogen Fuel Cell Test Lab

Located at the Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) in Eskilstuna, Sweden, the Hydrogen fuel cell test lab represents a big step forward in Volvos commitment to hydrogen. The lab is also the first facility in Volvo Group to be testing complete fuel cell units. Volvo sees hydrogen fuel cell technology as playing a key role within electromobility. Together with battery electric solutions, and more sustainable internal combustion engine offerings – working in alignment on the journey towards a carbon neutral society.
