Björn Jonsson is the Business Line Manager of ABB's global hoisting business, leading a multi-million-dollar business and a global organization covering all relevant mining markets.
With over 20 years’ experience in industrial automation, electrification, and digitalization at ABB, Björn has led teams across Europe, North America, Africa, Middle East and Asia in close cooperation with customers and partners in those regions.
Prior to being appointed Business Line Manager of
ABB's hoisting business, Björn held senior leadership positions in general management, sales, project management and engineering.
Björn holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and a master's degree in International Business at Stock- holm University.
In addition to his role as Business Line Manger, Björn is part of the board in the Swedish Association of Mines, Minerals and Metal Producers (Svemin) since 2016. He is also a thought leader on the digital transformation and sustainability in the industry, speaking regularly on
these topics.
